A selection of CGI renders of various life jackets and survival equipment I produced earlier this year to show at the London Arms fair - the final animated versions showing all the different features of the equipment were very complex - a time consuming but very rewarding project!
Well seems a long time since I've posted here - too long, but it's been a busy year. Here are a few photos of a trip to St. Andrews that combined a choral workshop with Voces8 and some incredible scenery for photography. I've wanted to return to St. Andrews to photograph the cathedral ruins since I first visited over 15 years ago - well I got my wish, and with over 700 photos to go through here is just a flavour of them. It also gave me opportunity to try out my new and expanding set of Zeiss prime lenses on the Contax mount - wow they are really great lenses and I don't see my Canon autofocus zooms coming out of the bag much from now on!!
On 24th September I had the pleasure to spend the day in Cardiff on the set of Doctor Who. We also had the opportunity to meet Peter Capaldi. It was great fun to spend some time photographing the TARDIS set and seeing how different it looked in reality compared to viewing it through my new Zeiss lenses. This was my first major shoot with a new set of manual focus only prime lenses, which made it quite an interesting challenge, but I think it turned out rather well!
Some new test renders of my 3D model for Rhuddlan Castle - extensive landscape and foliage work - over 70,000 plants and trees in this project from grass to oak trees! 40 minutes a frame is a bit much for 18 seconds of animation but it will be worth it!
